Separated in life by violence, Basilio and his mother Inés realize that their reunion is only possible because they are now deceased. Unable to find any trace of Basilio's missing father in their afterlife, they decide to embark on a search for him, undertaking a physical and spiritual journey through a landscape ravaged by war: with destroyed towns, abandoned fields, rivers turned into graveyards, and countless stories of desolation and death. Basilio, who in life became a violent criminal, is now forced to confront the horror of his past actions repeatedly, with his mother as a witness. Only through great sacrifices will they achieve the redemption they long for and discover the true value of life in a place where all hope seems lost.
